You will receive two separate statements for these charges. When paying on either account, please make checks payable to either Gastroenterology Associates or St. Augustine Endoscopy Center.

Anesthesia Since our goal is to provide for your comfort and safety during your procedure, light intravenous anesthesia will be administered by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, (CRNA). The sedation that you will receive is most commonly referred to as "twilight sleep". It is not a general anesthetic. During the procedure the CRNA will continuously monitor your vital signs, administer supplemental oxygen, and provide the necessary sedation to help make your experience pain free.

____Upon the completion of your procedure you will be transported to the recovery area until you are ready to be discharged from the center, generally about 30 minutes. Since you have received sedation during the procedure, it is essential that you have appropriate transportation to and from the center. For you safety you will not be allowed to drive yourself home.

____In the days preceding your procedure, if you have any fears, concerns, or questions regarding your anesthesia, we encourage you to call the Endoscopy Center. Our anesthesia staff will be very happy to discuss your concerns or answer any questions that you might have.
